Overview:
QR Codes can be scanned by smartphones to trigger multiple functions.
The most common is to automatically link the smartphone to an encoded URL when scanned.
They can also be used to automatically create calendar events, add contact information, make a phone call and send a text, and various other functions.
We can encode any information that you specify into a QR Code – please just let us know what you would like encoded in the ‘ Additional Information ‘ section when filling out your details.
Size requirement:
The bigger the QR Code, the more data it can encode, so you need to be sure that your code can meet the requirement.
Examples:
- 3 or 4 CM squared can encode a URL or a couple of lines of text comfortably, without compromising the scannability,
- However, if you are encoding a VCard or VCal event, then a larger code will be necessary.

Instant Email delivery of your QR code package:
These QR codes are created automatically (as long as they aren’t too complicated) and emailed to you within a few minutes.
If the QR code is complicated, or somehow fools our automation system, we will manually create the QR Code and email it to you.
Order Dynamic QR codes and then change the target web page address (URL) whenever you wish
“Static” QR codes target a web URL that can never be changed because the web URL is encoded in the image.
Our “Dynamic” QR Code service enables the target URL to be changed repeatedly in the future if required. This is possible because the image encodes an interim web page, from which we can redirect to whatever URL specify.
Features:
Unlimited scans: Scans of the Dynamic QR Code are UNLIMITED so long as you don’t abuse the QR code with millions of scans that cause technical problems such as crashed servers.
Functions for life: The Dynamic QR Code, with its redirection capability, will function FREE for two years and will continue to function after that for as long as you pay an annual fee of $10.
Unlimited redirection of the target URL: On initial purchase, you specify a target URL. You can ask us to REDIRECT the target URL as often as you wish, at a fee as stated on the web page.
Tracking Reports: Order a dynamic QR code and we can supply reports on how often, time of day, most popular day and which country your QR codes are being scanned.
DIY – Set up your own URL redirects for Static QR codes
This is a DIY version of the “Dynamic QR code” described above.
For QR codes that load web pages you can set up a URL redirect in the web software.
This instructs a browser to automatically load a different page to that in the encoded instruction.
Background:
What happens normally when you try to load a web page that no longer exists?
Most of us have seen this – the software on that website runs a “redirect” that by default displays a specially configured error page.
” URL redirection, also called URL forwarding, is a World Wide Web technique for making a web page available under more than one URL address. When a web browser attempts to open a URL that has been redirected, a page with a different URL is opened . ” Wikipedia
The redirect is just a software instruction, so it can be edited to point to any web page.
Redirecting the QR Code instruction:
The QR Code is encoded with a hard-coded instruction to load page A, and this doesn’t change, so when a user scans the QR code with a smart phone scanner, the smart phone software always diligently races to load page A.
If you control the website for page A, you can set up a URL Redirect.
So someone scans the QR code with a mobile device, then while the device tries to load page A it gets interrupted by the programmed Redirect on your website, which informs the smart phone, “No mate, no page A this time, I’m redirecting you to load page B instead “.
And in the same way you can change the redirect to load Page C, D, E …. etc
Benefits:
- The biggest benefit with this is that you have the flexibility to change QR code functionality after it is already in the field. This empowers you to redirect your QR code to different links in the future, and you can do this multiple times without changing the physical QR code.
- It also enables you to monitor traffic from the QR code (watch this video that explains this in more detail).
